Having already been involved in Aquael for many years, Alain’s daughter and son, Léa and Frédéric, are stepping in full-time in the direction team and committing themselves fully to Aquael, ensuring its continuity and long-term success.

While our Business Development Directors, Francis Barrett and Martin Desmarais, are solidifying the company's international presence, the factory welcomes its new General Manager, Benoit de Mallmann, who, in 2025, has contributed for more than 10 years to the excellence, vigor and flexibility of Aquael. 2013 also marks one of Frédéric and Léa’s first trips to China and Aquael.

The start of this new decade marks a great moment for Aquael, which now serves customers all over the world. With the arrival of another pillar of Aquael, our Deputy General Manager Steven Chen, the company adds a valuable string to its bow.

Sensing the market needs and the business opportunity, Aquael becomes the first 100% Canadian owned fully OEM/ODM shower doors manufacturer in China, combining fifty years of Western experience and know-how with a team composed of the best local specialists to develop new products hand in hand with its customers.

At Aquael, our team of more than 20 engineers and designers are solely focused on shower doors. Their experience and expertise allow them to advise and help our customers to design the very best product to suit their business and market needs.

2006 marks the arrival of our 3rd shareholder, Francis Barrett. Francis first acts as General manager for Aquael during 7 years guaranteeing its success in its fragile first years of existence, before establishing representative offices in Europe in order to consolidate the presence and accessibility of the company on the European market.

In order to consolidate its position on the world market, and following more than 35 trips to China, the first of which took place as early as 2002, Aciflex establishes a complete manufacturing structure in Zhongshan, Guangdong, in the heart of the Chinese Sanitary Ware industry. And thus, is founded Zhongshan Aquael Sanitary Co., Ltd. by Alain Com-Nougué, and his business partner, Martin Desmarais, accompanied by 钱智钧 (Jeff Chin), one of the pillars of the company still today.

They bring with them their customer focus philosophy, their demand for excellence and a deep sense of business and innovation having made the excellence of the family business’ reputation at the heart of this new part of its history.

After two decades of existence, the management of the family business is taken over by the second generation of Com-Nougué entrepreneurs. A new area of prosperity begins for the company, which then establishes itself as one of the largest manufacturers of bathing fixtures in Canada working in close partnership with its distributors in all fields: retail, OEM, specialized markets, builders and wholesalers.

Starting at the bottom of the ladder, Alain developes a technical expertise and remarkable leadership over the years. An entrepreneur at heart like his father, he contributes to the distinctive success of the company then recognized for its designer accessories and its incessant need to be at the cutting edge of the latest developments on the market. Already at that time, the family business is applauded for its after-sales services of the highest quality.

The manufacturing company specializes in plastics and makes bathroom products such as bath towers, bathtubs, vanities, sinks and showers. The organization also operates a subcontracting division making objects as avant-garde as they are varied: from compost boxes to in-ground swimming pools, Jean is constantly reinventing his business.
